Top national female sprinter Shirin Akter emerged as the fastest women of the country for the eighth consecutive time winning her respective 100m sprints on the inaugural day of the 15th National Summer Athletics at the turf of Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Friday.
Taking lessons from the past, the timing of the event was counted on both electronic and hand-timing.
The distinct difference between these two systems was also evident after the results were revealed.
Shirin of Bangladesh Navy clocked 12.2s in electronic timing and 12s in hand timing while her teammate Shohagi Akter clocked 12.47s (E) and 12.1s (H) to finish second.
